- 1/4 cup dripping
- 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
- 2/3 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
- salt and pepper
- mashed potatoes
Recipe
- 1 melt the drippings. add onion and fry slowly, stirring occasionally until evenly brown. stir in enough oatmeal to absorb the fat. add seasoning and cook for about 10-15 minutes until throughly cooked.
- 2 serve with mashed potatoes. uncooked, it can be used as a stuffing for chicken.
