Scottish Skirlie

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup dripping
  • 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • salt and pepper
  • mashed potatoes

Recipe

  • 1 melt the drippings. add onion and fry slowly, stirring occasionally until evenly brown. stir in enough oatmeal to absorb the fat. add seasoning and cook for about 10-15 minutes until throughly cooked.
  • 2 serve with mashed potatoes. uncooked, it can be used as a stuffing for chicken.
