Tequila-marinated Crispy Chicken Wings

Ingredients

- 2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed and discarded
- 11 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 limes, juiced
- 1 orange, juiced
- 2 tablespoons tequila
- 1 tablespoon mild chili powder
- 2 teaspoons chopped chipotle chiles in adobo
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cumin
- 1 pinch dried oregano
Recipe
- 1 cut the chicken wings into 2 pieces at the joint, discarding the tips.
- 2 place the chicken wings in a non metallic dish and add the remaining ingredients.
- 3 toss well to coat, then cover and let marinated in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- 4 preheat the grill.
- 5 cook the chicken over hot coals, turning occasionally, for 15-20 minutes, or until crisply browned and the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted into the thickest part of the meat.
- 6 serve at once.
