Spaghetti Sauce

Total Time: 4 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • 4 (28 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 3 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 stick pepperoni
  • 1/2 lb ground lamb
  • 2/3 cup fresh parsley (1/3 dried)
  • 2/3 cup fresh oregano (1/3 dried)
  • 1 dash dried basil
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 5 -6 garlic cloves
  • 1 -2 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 6 sweet italian sausage (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 first brown sausage in a skillet in olive oil. set aside.
  • 2 coat a large stock pot with olive oil (a few tablespoons) add onions. when onions begin to brown add garlic, mushrooms, and ground lamb. when lambs almost cooked add spices and half the srick of pepperoni slice into 1/4 inch slices. when lamb is cooked add chicken broth and bay leaves. heat broth then turn to low add sauce, tomatoes, paste, the rest of the pepperoni slice 1/4 inch slices, and the carrot whole. add sausage and cook untill sausage is cooked through (4 hours) stirring often. before you serve discard carrot.
