Tuna Mornay

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 410 g tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked rice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chicken seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons chopped chives (dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 cup celery (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup cheese (grated)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 180°
  • 2 mix together tuna, rice and celery and place in a casserole dish. mix together the garlic, celery salt, chicken seasoning, chives and curry power - set aside.
  • 3 melt butter in a heavy saucepan. add flour and cook briefly, stirring. gradually add the milk while still stirring -- until mixture thickens. add the spice mixture and stir through. pour the sauce over the tuna mixture and stir it through.
  • 4 sprinkle cheese then paprika on top.
  • 5 bake until golden - about 30 minutes.
