Taro Chicken

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 lb taro root (starchy yam with a rough, brown skin, not the sweet, orange-colored type)
  • 1 1/4 lbs chicken
  • 2 tablespoons ginger
  • 1/2 cup scallion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 dash sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cooking wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon oil

Recipe

  • 1 cut taro, chicken, and scallion into pieces (approx. 1").
  • 2 coat chicken evenly with (a) and let sit for 25 minutes.
  • 3 put everything on a plate and steam for 20 minutes at high heat.
