The Best Fancy Florentine Sausage Stuffing (or Dressing)

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 1/2 cup carrot
  • 1 (16 ounce) can chicken broth
  • 1 (8 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages bread stuffing mix

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter.
  • 2 you can use hot italian sausage (we like it spicy) or the sweet italian sausage. cut in small pieces and brown in butter with garlic.
  • 3 chop veggies very fine and add to pan.
  • 4 saute about 8 minutes.
  • 5 add everything to a 9 x 11 baking dish.
  • 6 drizzle the top with turkey drippings or add chicken broth and 3/4 c water.
  • 7 you may add pepper to taste but don't add salt unless you taste and taste again. the broth and sausage should provide all the saltiness you need.
  • 8 bake at 325 for one hour.
  • 9 if the top seems to be browning too much, put a piece of foil loosely over the top.
